These brushes are a true classic. With their eye-catching packaging and authentic German design, they have been a favorite for many years. Frank's Universal Standard Large Slicker is slightly curved and can be used for any breed of dog that is not short-haired. The softer and more flexible tips make this slicker best suited for daily and regular maintenance of long coats that do not show much matting. If you have a puppy or an older dog with sensitive skin, it is also perfect.

Use instructions
Daily and regular coat maintenance for small to medium breeds with long, soft and fine coats.

For larger breeds or larger areas to clean, we recommend Frank's Universal Grande de Luxe Large Slicker Soft. (25FRA005).

Gently comb and pull the brush towards the handle (do not twist your wrist). Let the tips glide through the coat and repeat if necessary. Comb without applying pressure to the skin.

For best results, we recommend combing the coat in layers from the skin to the ends, starting from the bottom of your four-legged friend's body and working your way up. This is especially recommended if your dog has a heavy long, double or curly coat. For dogs with shorter coats, you can also comb against the coat.

Long Coat - Brush gently with light, long strokes, brushing down to the ends of the coat to avoid static damage and breakage. For best results, comb the coat in layers. Start at the bottom by parting the coat horizontally and holding the unbrushed section with your free hand. Work methodically upwards, keeping your wrist straight to avoid contact with the dog's skin.

Curly coat - comb in the direction of the hair growth and then against it in light, long strokes.

Wire coat - comb in the direction of the hair growth and then against it, if necessary, removing mats and dead hair. If the coat is matted, use this smooth brush in combination with the Show Tech Mat Buster Dematting Comb.

Comb without applying pressure to the skin. To prevent matting and tangling, the dog's coat should be bathed, conditioned, and combed regularly.
